Diamond Skin.
The skin that protects it.
On the titanium, polished by hand by skilled craftsmen, a technical coating developed specifically for this ring is deposited by plasma, under vacuum: a few thousandths of a millimetre, harder than hardened steel. It comes from the technologies that protect the most stressed parts in aerospace and in Formula 1.
It is not a paint and it is not a plating: it becomes one with the metal. Tested over thousands of cycles of use, it stands up to everyday wear, among keys, handlebars and tools.
“our Titanium will not be polished in a hurry. You take a ring, bring it to the polishing wheel, hold it against the light. And you start again. Until nothing is left of the surface but light.”
One ring at a time
-
One
The shape
Machined from titanium to the tolerances of precision engineering: the cross-section is drawn so that the ring feels full under the fingers and slim at the edge.
-
Two
Polishing, by hand
Aerospace titanium cannot be polished in series: every ring passes through the hands of a polisher, a craftsman of the trade, until the surface is ready for the coating.
-
Three
Diamond Skin
The coating, deposited by plasma under vacuum: a few thousandths of a millimetre that become one with the metal, and give colour and resistance. Plasma is the fourth state of matter. You wear it, and you are free to forget it.
A harder alloy asks for more work, and part of that work stays in the hands of those who know how to do it. No ring is indestructible, and we do not promise it: this one is made to be worn always, not to be protected.
